Chateau Duchcov

Chateau Dux, which is the original German name for the chateau, is searched for its rich history and valuable historical landmark fund. In 2001 it was proclaimed as a national cultural landmark. The era of the biggest cultural manor blossoming in the 18th and 19th century is still commemorated by the Valdštejn´s hall with a generic gallery of the ancestors, renovated picture gallery, Valdštejn´s museum, exposition in Billiards chateau wing, a room of chateau staff and a room devoted to Giacomo Casanova. There he has written his memories that later made him famous worl-wide. Chateau buildings are still in a grand manner shape of three-wing representative residence with a courtyard, chateau church, garden and stable.
